What is ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a bot created by OpenAI to hold humanlike conversations. It can
respond to questions and write many things, including code, essays, articles, social
media posts, emails, and much more. You could make it do almost anything you want.
That is if it actually allows you to do it.
The history of OpenAI
OpenAI was born when Sam Alton, Greg Brockman, and many other tech adversaries
created OpenAI as a non-profit organization made to create AI to help humanity in
different forms of artifical intellegence. They created a few projects until creating
ChatGPT, and getting into a few controversies.
Advantages and disadvantages of ChatGPT
Some of the benefits of ChatGPT is it's faster loading times, better natural language
understandfing, and more natural conversations. Some of it's cons include the difficulty
of the training models used to train it and the bias the training tools provided to it.
Controversies around ChatGPT
When ChatGPT first released, some tech critics called it a "Spammy auto-generated
content tool. Some teachers also discovered students could use ChatGPT to generate
essays and other projects and pass them off as their own without any effort. The only
problem that the those essays were far better than the students can write. They could
easily be caught by looking at their other assignments before ChatGPT released.
How ChatGPT demonstrates AI's Power
ChatGPT can do many things that demonstrates the power of modern AI. It can write
almost anything you want. As stated before, It can respond to questions and write many
things, including code, essays, articles, social media posts, emails, and much more.
all of these features in just one chatbot shows a lot about how far we've come in terms
of AI
What are some common things ChatGPT is used for?
ChatGPT can be used for many things. Including Content creation, translation,
conversational AI, writting code, and debugging. This isn't evrything but are good
examples as to what it can do.
The limitations of ChatGPT
As with any other program, ChatGPT is not and will never be perfect. There are
many things chat gpt dosen't do well in terms of anything. It lacks any sort of common
sense, cannot mulitask for anything, has no internet access, and has limited knowledge.
How people misuse ChatGPT
ChatGPT can be misused for many things. It can be used to make slightly different
phishing scam emails and translate them effortlessly, replicate existing websites,
impersonate as a CEO for an email compromise attack, and much more. We cant also forget
cheating on essays, you could even use ChatGPT to cheat on this assignment as well!
How many users does ChatGPT have
ChatGPT has over 100 million users as of August 2023. ChatGPT surpassed 1 million
users 5 days after it's inital release. That's about it.
What are some safeguards ChatGPT has to protect society
The safeguards implemented are mostly there to prevent misuse of the bot. Having your
hyperrealistic chatbot be used to aid in crime isn't a very good thing for society. To
counter this, safeguards were implemented to try to stop all of the crime. The safeguards
recieved critism from almost all users for being too limiting and being easily bypassed.
